Troubleshooting
This category offers quick guidance on common call and connection issues, along with steps to resolve them and information on how to reach support.
This issue is often caused by the SIP ALG (Application Layer Gateway) feature that is enabled by default on many home routers. Some routers (especially brands like ZTE) try to “assist” by modifying audio packets, but in doing so they may miscalculate the Content-Length or corrupt the packet format. For security reasons, our servers reject these malformed packets.
Solution: Disable the “SIP ALG” feature in your router settings if possible, or try switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data (4G/5G).

This is almost always related to internet connectivity. Check that your connection is stable. If you are using a Bluetooth audio device (headphones, speakers, etc.), verify the selected audio source from the speaker icon on the call screen.

The per-minute rate for the destination country may be higher than your current balance. For example, if you have $0.10 but the rate is $0.15 per minute, the call cannot start. Also ensure that your internet connection allows VoIP calls, as some regions may restrict them.

Note that some platforms such as WhatsApp do not send verification SMS to US numbers due to their own policies. Consider getting a UK number to avoid this issue.

First, make sure you placed the call using the second number that comes with the plan. Calls made using the Telicall Number or another number without that plan will not use its minutes. This can also happen if you’ve run out of calling minutes, your subscription is suspended, or the type of line you called (mobile or landline) isn’t covered by your plan. If the problem continues after these checks, contact us at support@telicall.com.
